The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) has released a draft of proposed amendments to the Garden State Film and Digital Media Tax Credit Program Rules. These rules are aimed at encouraging production companies to film and create digital media content in the state. The proposed changes involve readopting rules from February 2024, with significant modifications to clarify existing guidelines and incorporate alterations from P.L. 2024, c. 33, enacted in July 2024.
According to an NJEDA spokesperson, “The document posted on the NJEDA webpage is a draft, which will be presented to the NJEDA Board, with any final edits, for its review and consideration for approval. If approved, the amendments will be published in the New Jersey Register for formal public comment as required by the Administrative Procedure Act before adoption.”
The NJEDA is inviting the public to provide feedback on these proposed amendments. This initiative is part of the NJEDA's efforts to refine and enhance the framework for production companies operating in New Jersey.
For those interested, the draft document is available on the NJEDA website.
