NJEDA opens applications for NJ Film Works Grant Program

The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) is set to open applications for the NJ Film Works Grant Program on May 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. This initiative aims to prepare New Jersey residents for opportunities in the state's expanding film industry, thereby enhancing and diversifying the local economy.

The NJ Film Works Grant Program offers competitive funding to entities that provide workforce development and skills training programs. These programs are designed to strengthen and diversify New Jersey's film and digital media talent pipeline. A total of $3 million is allocated for this program, with grants ranging from $250,000 to $750,000.

Applications will be evaluated based on criteria such as support for training and job access for residents of New Jersey’s Overburdened Communities. Additionally, proposals should offer near-term paid position placements within the industry for trainees.

Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations, private workforce training organizations, labor unions, community-based organizations, educational institutions, and both individual and consortiums of private film and digital media companies.

Applications open on May 12 at 10:00 a.m., with a webinar scheduled for May 15 at 11:00 a.m. to provide more information about the grant program. Interested parties must submit their applications by July 11, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.
