HR experts recently shared insights on recruitment and retention strategies during NJBIA's Business Mania event at Rutgers University. The discussion highlighted the significance of long-term planning in recruiting, the impact of artificial intelligence on talent management, and the importance of employer branding.
Kristi D’Angeli, CEO and founder of Work DynamX, emphasized that successful recruiting involves more than just identifying candidates with the necessary skills. "It’s more a matter of do they have the right mindset, and do they have the right values that you can fit within your organization," D’Angeli stated.
John Christian, director of Human Resources at Nisivoccia LLP, discussed his approach to recruiting accountants and auditors. He stressed the value of teamwork over individual stardom. "In the accounting and the audit side, we want people who are team oriented," Christian said. He noted that candidates with experience in sports or organizational roles often excel in team environments.
