The Bloustein School has announced the promotion of three faculty members to Full Professor of Teaching. The promoted professors are Amy E. Underhill Abruzzi, Ph.D., MPH, MLS, CPH, MCHES; Anita Franzione, DrPH; and Alexandra Lopez, M.A.
Professor Abruzzi's research focuses on cancer epidemiology, prevention of chronic illnesses and comorbidities, and health geography with an emphasis on urban/rural issues in the U.S. She also examines environmental and occupational contributions to disease disparities. Her teaching portfolio includes courses such as Epidemiology, Urban Health, Cancer and Society, and Health and Public Policy.
Professor Franzione is interested in U.S. health care systems, aging, quality improvement in patient care across various settings, and public health initiatives. She teaches courses like Health Care Systems, Principles of Public Health, Public Health & Aging, and Professional Practice.
Professor Lopez specializes in clinical supervision in addiction counseling and cultural competency within the Latino community. Her teaching includes the popular Drugs, Culture and Society course along with Science of Prevention.
