Chrissy Buteas, President and CEO of the HealthCare Institute of New Jersey, responded to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's recent announcement regarding the reconstitution of the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP).
In her statement, Buteas emphasized the importance of vaccines as a crucial defense against serious viral and bacterial infections. She remarked, "Vaccines remain one of humanity’s most critical defenses against deadly viral and bacterial infections. Diseases and viruses that used to ravage and destabilize societies, economies and nations have been tamed or even eradicated by vaccines."
Buteas highlighted New Jersey's significant role in life sciences over nearly 150 years. She affirmed their commitment to collaborating with various stakeholders, including patient groups, medical professionals, and regulatory agencies at both federal and state levels. Buteas stated that they aim to continue being a cornerstone of modern public health by developing new treatments, vaccines, and cures.
