The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) has released a revised summary of proposed changes to the Film and Digital Media Tax Credit Program rules and is requesting public feedback. The program offers transferable tax credits against the corporation business tax and gross income tax for qualified production expenses incurred in New Jersey, aiming to encourage companies to produce film and digital media content within the state.
The proposed amendments reflect updates from legislation P.L. 2025, c. 81, which was signed into law on June 30, 2025. The NJEDA will present the final amendments to its Board for review and possible approval. If approved, these changes will be published in the New Jersey Register for formal public comment as required by the Administrative Procedure Act before they are adopted.
A revised summary of the proposed amendments is available online for review.
"The goal of the act is to incentivize production companies to film and create digital media content in New Jersey."
