The New Jersey Judiciary announced that the Judiciary Information Technology Office is upgrading the wireless infrastructure in all Superior Court courthouses. The project will bring changes to how attorneys use the wireless network in these courts.
According to a New Jersey Judiciary press release, the "NJ-Attorney" Wi-Fi network available to attorneys in the courts will be discontinued. Attorneys will now have access to the network available to the general public: "
The press release states that when using the courts’ public Wi-Fi network, attorneys do not have to enter their User ID and password. However, they must accept the end user agreement to access the wireless network, which is also required of the general public.
According to "The New Jersey Courts: A Guide to the Judicial Process," published by the New Jersey Judiciary, the state has a superior court in each of its 21 counties. Approximately seven million new cases are filed in New Jersey’s court system every year.
