Governor Murphy has issued a statement regarding the passing of Chadd Lackey, the Executive Director of the New Jersey State Commission of Investigation (SCI).
"Tammy and I are deeply saddened by the tragic passing of New Jersey State Commission of Investigation Executive Director Chadd Lackey," said Governor Murphy.
Lackey was recognized for breaking barriers as SCI’s first Black executive director. His career spanned nearly 20 years, during which he addressed issues such as organized crime, opioid abuse, and corruption.
"There is no doubt New Jersey is a safer and more just place because of him," Governor Murphy added.
Governor Murphy extended his condolences: "Our heartfelt prayers are with his family and his colleagues at the SCI during this difficult time."
