Nearly nine million illegal crossings, including nearly two million "got aways," have been recorded under the Biden-Harris Administration's border policy. In response, Americans for Prosperity (AFP) has hosted numerous events nationwide to inform citizens about effective border policies.
In recent months, AFP representatives traveled to Nevada and Montana. Retired Border Patrol Chief Chris Clem, AFP Immigration Policy Fellow Jordan Fischetti, and LIBRE’s policy director Isabel Soto addressed hundreds of concerned citizens in these states. They emphasized the importance of AFP's Four Pillars strategy in securing the border, reforming the immigration system, and maintaining America's economic competitiveness.
Residents of Nevada and Montana are experiencing the effects of current border policies and are seeking solutions. AFP aims to provide these solutions by engaging with thousands of Americans, educating them on effective policies, and mobilizing grassroots support for border policy reform.
AFP asserts that the ongoing chaos at the southern border is impacting all states. Polls indicate that Americans largely agree on the need for Congress to secure the border. However, there is a lack of discussion on effective policy solutions.
Chief Clem stated, “We need tall fences and wide gates to secure the border.” AFP’s strategy focuses on providing immediate resources for border security while implementing long-term structural reforms.
The organization believes Washington has neglected its responsibilities regarding border safety and immigration system management. AFP's four-pillar strategy aims to energize its grassroots supporters and equip lawmakers with necessary tools to address the border crisis effectively.
