Nominations are now open for the 2025 Small Business Person of the Year, a prestigious award recognizing outstanding entrepreneurs from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Guam. The winners will compete for the National Small Business Person of the Year title.
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has been celebrating National Small Business Week (NSBW) for over 70 years to honor America's entrepreneurs and small business owners. In 2025, NSBW is scheduled from May 4-10.
During this week, the SBA highlights the significant impact made by entrepreneurs and small business owners in growing businesses, creating jobs, driving innovation, and enhancing global competitiveness. "From corner shops to innovation hubs, American entrepreneurs create jobs, invent and provide crucial products and services to their communities," said SBA Administrator Isabel Casillas Guzman. "The SBA is proud to celebrate National Small Business Week each year to lift up the best of that American entrepreneurial spirit."
Business owners wishing to be considered for the award must submit nominations by December 5th at 4 p.m., with forms available online.
Additional awards open for nomination include categories such as Small Business Exporter of the Year and various Phoenix Awards related to disaster recovery efforts. Federal Procurement Awards like Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year are also part of this recognition program.
Awards will be presented during a ceremony in Washington D.C., on May 4-5, 2025.
