YWCA Northern NJ gala honors champions of women's empowerment

The YWCA Northern New Jersey is set to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to women's empowerment, equality, and social justice. The annual "Walking the Talk" Gala will be hosted by WPIX News Anchor Venessa Freeman.

Scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, at the Westmount Country Club in Woodland Park, the event's proceeds will support YWCANNJ’s programs benefiting communities across northern New Jersey.

First Lady Tammy Murphy will be among those recognized for their efforts in promoting gender and racial equity. Other honorees include Dee C. Marshall, CEO of Diverse and Engaged; Dorothy Kahlau, Director of the Women in Business program at Valley Bank; Reginald Bledsoe, Director of the Essex County Office of LGBTQ+ Affairs; and Sabeen Masih, Senior Vice President of Capital Impact Group.

"We are thrilled to recognize First Lady Tammy Murphy and all of the incredible honorees at this year’s ‘Walking the Talk’ Gala," said YWCANNJ CEO Helen Archontou. "Their unwavering commitment to women’s empowerment, equality, and social justice embodies the spirit of YWCANNJ’s mission."
