Awards were recently presented to notable figures in government and business at the NJBIA Public Policy Forum. The event recognized individuals for their significant career achievements.
Jeannine LaRue, a public policy strategist, received the Candy Straight Trailblazer Award. Her four-decade career in government and politics has inspired many women in New Jersey.
Senator Vin Gopal (D-13) was honored with one of the Paul Troast Awards for his contributions to education, business, property tax relief, and mental health services in the Legislature.
The Leonard C. Johnson Awards were given to NJBIA member leaders who have advocated for the business community. Recipients included Peter Connolly, CEO of the New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program; John W. Davies, VP of Bayshore Recycling; Aiysha (AJ) Johnson, CEO and executive director of the New Jersey Society of CPAs; Dean Paranicas, former president and CEO of the Healthcare Institute of New Jersey; and David Shipley, co-chair of the State and Local Tax Group at Stevens & Lee.
