Beth Johnson announces retirement from Citizens Financial Group

Citizens Financial Group has announced the upcoming retirement of Beth Johnson, vice chair and chief experience officer. Her departure is set for March 3. Johnson, a key member of the executive committee, manages areas such as customer experience, digital design, data analytics, marketing and communications, enterprise payments strategy, and sustainability programs.

Bruce Van Saun, chairman and CEO of Citizens Financial Group, remarked on her contributions: “Beth has had a distinguished career at Citizens, with innumerable contributions.” He noted her pivotal role in setting initial strategies and enhancing digital capabilities during her 11-year tenure.

Van Saun highlighted that Johnson's decision to retire coincides with a time when her portfolio is performing exceptionally well. He assured that a smooth transition plan is in place to distribute her responsibilities among other senior leaders.

Johnson’s legacy includes establishing a strong foundation for future growth and innovation at Citizens. Van Saun expressed his best wishes for her next chapter: “I wish her the very best in her life’s next chapter.”
