Tennent, NJ - The New Jersey Libertarian Party is voicing concerns over the high property taxes in the state. A representative from the party highlighted that an average homeowner in their town might pay nearly $150,000 in property taxes over a decade. This situation is seen as a failure of public policy.
The representative expressed worries about middle-class families leaving New Jersey due to high taxes and an expanding government. They pointed out issues like rampant corruption, uncontrolled spending and debt, stagnant economic growth, and unfavorable business and tax climates as contributing factors.
While acknowledging that politicians are often blamed for these issues, the party believes the problem stems from citizens deferring responsibilities to the state government. The spokesperson emphasized the need for cutting taxes and spending despite potential challenges from special interest groups.
The NJ Libertarian Party was established in 1972 and currently has 7,794 registered voters in New Jersey. They stand apart by advocating for individual rights without interference from others.
