Monmouth University is set to host a discussion on the media's influence in promoting civility within politics and public service. The event will feature Briana Vannozzi from NJ Spotlight News and David Wildstein from the New Jersey Globe as panelists.

Scheduled for March 26 at Pollack Theatre, Monmouth University, the discussion will run from 11:40 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will be moderated by Senator Vin Gopal (D-11) and former Senator Joe Kyrillos (R-13).

The event titled "Restoring Public Trust: The Role of Media in Advancing Civility and Informed Policy" is free to attend, though prior registration is necessary.

Vannozzi brings her experience as an Emmy-award-winning journalist with NJ Spotlight News, having started her career covering State House politics for New Jersey Network News. Wildstein is recognized for his extensive knowledge of New Jersey politics as founder and editor-in-chief of the New Jersey Globe.

Moderators Gopal and Kyrillos are both seasoned business figures with deep roots in public service. Gopal has represented Monmouth County's 11th Legislative District since 2018 and serves as Senate Majority Whip and chair of the Senate Education Committee. Kyrillos retired in 2018 after three decades representing Monmouth County's 13th Legislative District and currently holds roles at SK Partners and Newport Capital Group.
