Casino operators in Atlantic City reported modest growth in both net revenue and gross operating profit for the second quarter of 2025, according to data released by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.
For the period ending June 30, 2025, casino licensees recorded net revenue of $837.2 million, representing a 0.9% increase over the same quarter last year. Gross operating profit for the quarter reached $184.3 million, up 3.3% compared to the second quarter of 2024.
However, results for the first half of 2025 showed declines when compared with the previous year. Net revenue for January through June totaled $1.57 billion, which is down 2.0% from the same period last year. Gross operating profit during that time was $320.7 million, a decrease of 3.9%.
The Division noted that detailed information regarding net revenue and gross operating profit recognition for internet gaming and sports wagering can be found in the footnotes of its Quarterly Financial Report. The agency stated: "Important information regarding the Net Revenue and Gross Operating Profit recognition related to the Internet gaming and sports wagering business is contained in the footnotes of the Quarterly Financial Report. Valid comparisons cannot be made without using the information contained in the footnotes."
Hotel occupancy at casino hotels also declined slightly during this period. For the second quarter ending June 30, hotel occupancy was reported at 72.6%, a drop of 0.7 percentage points compared to last year’s corresponding quarter. For the first six months of 2025, occupancy stood at 67.8%, down by 1.3 percentage points from a year earlier.
