Middlesex College is organizing a free online workshop for food businesses on October 23. The event aims to connect entrepreneurs with resources and tools to help them succeed.
The webinar will cover ways to access small business grants and loans offered by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) and the New Jersey Commission on Science Innovation and Technology (CSIT). It will also introduce technical assistance services available from the New Jersey Small Business Development Centers (NJSBDC).
Additional topics include information about shared-use commercial kitchen space provided by South Amboy Kitchen LLC, designed to help food entrepreneurs start and grow their operations. The session will also present options for payroll, 401K, and health insurance for small business owners, with details from the New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA).
Speakers at the event are Sarabjit Sawhney, Chief Operating Officer of South Amboy Kitchen; Kathy Guzman, Senior Small Business Liaison at NJEDA; Wayne Staub, Chief Member Experience Officer at NJBIA; Lilian Mauro, Regional Director at NJSBDC; and Judith Sheft, Executive Director of NJ CSIT.
