PATH cancels planned track closure between Harrison and Journal Square due to weather

PATH has announced that regular weekend train service will be in effect between Harrison and Journal Square stations, following the cancellation of planned track work due to expected inclement weather. The previously scheduled closure, part of a series of six weekend outages intended for the installation and testing of four new switches, will not take place as planned.

The track construction was designed to allow for quicker and more seamless train movement from one track to another, increasing system flexibility. PATH stated that information about rescheduling the cancelled work will be provided once details are finalized.

A spokesperson for PATH said, "Planned track construction and repair work between those two stations has been cancelled. Train service will operate between Harrison and JSQ this weekend."

Further updates on the rescheduled work are expected in the future.
